Our Home Town Favorite

Whitney E. Houston (Aug-9-1963) to (Feb-11-2012)

Being a New Jerseyian native and a fan of one of the best ever R&B singers to pave the way into rhythm and blues (Whitney Houston) has called for me pay homage to her career, her life and the legacy she leaves behind.

It is a sad day in the entertainment business of music. The late great Whitney Houston has died leaving a host of unforgettable recordings for fans and music lovers all over the world to remember her. Whitney Houston was born August 9th, 1963 in Newark N.J and at the age of four moved to East
Orange, New Jersey to escape a level of poverty which in many cases surrounds the city of Newark, but for Whitney's most of all to follow in her dreams.

Mrs. Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born into a royalty family of musicians. Dating back into the early 1960's. Member's of her family included her mother (gospel singer) Cissy Houston, her cousin Dionne Warwick and (god-mother) Aretha Franklin adding to a long list of other R&B/Gospel singers family rooted.

On July 18th, 1992., Whitney married R&B singer Bobby Brown. Together they had Bobby Kristina Brown their only child as a couple. The two managed to survive the up's and downs of the marriage life for approximately 15 years from July of 1992 to April 24th of 2007.

Since the tender age of fifth-teen, Whitney Houston has been singing background vocals for the diva Chaka Khan in her 1978 classic hit "I'm Every Women" and launched her debut album in 1985. She was the only female R&B singer to unleash 7 number 1 hits in the 80's and 90's as well as get heavy rotation on MTV as the first African-American female artist. Our Hometown Favorite... She is loved and will be missed dearly. May she Rest in Peace...P.O.W
